I've long been fascinated by tiles and how each individual shape contributes to the whole while still retaining its own boundaries. Alone my tiles are portraits--wonky shapes, meandering lines and patterns each with the ability to stand alone as characters. Together they share a relationship or friendship expressed in how they abut each other or share space in between.
